What does my child need to bring for their first session?
If choosing to receive tutoring in-person, please have your child bring a three-ring binder. I provide the rest! If it is an online session, a Google Classroom will be set up where I provide all the necessary resources. If there are specific projects or assignments that you would like me to support, please have your child bring them to our sessions.
Do you tutor online or in-person?
I tutor both online and in-person.
What age range to you teach?
I have taught everything under the sun from Kindergarten to grade 12 since becoming a teacher a decade ago! Please visit the Elementary page and the High School page for more information.
Where do the tutoring sessions take place?
Online sessions will be through Google Classroom with a link for a video call. In-person sessions are based out of my home in Paris, Ontario.
What programs do you use?
Throughout my career, I have been able explore many different programs for each subject. What works for one student, might not work for another. For this reason, I use a variety of programs and teaching methods throughout my tutoring sessions.
How do you communicate with parents?
I provide session reports for parents which includes notes, observations and homework, if applicable.
How many sessions do you recommend per week and how long are your sessions?
Tutoring sessions are typically one hour long. The frequency depends on the child’s academic area of focus. It truly does take a village to raise a child. I kindly remind parents that one hour a week is the minimum if learning is not supported at home. I encourage families to compliment our sessions by setting a learning routine at home. Recommendations and resources can be provided.
